Digital identity

WHAT IS DIGITAL IDENTITY?

Digital identity is the  set of information that, within a computer system, refer to a specific person. The higher the level of complexity within the information system, the more in-depth the information relating to the person in question will be.

With digital identity, it is possible to establish that a certain person has had access to a computer system at a precise moment and is taking certain actions.

Access to the computer system takes place through credentials that uniquely identify the person and which only the person should be in possession of.

Digital identity can have various implications (ie a link that exists between two propositions in order to relate their truth values) that allow certain processes to be simplified or made safer.

WHAT ARE THE EXISTING IMPLICATIONS?

We can give some examples of implications:

PEC : or Certified Electronic Mail which uniquely identifies the sender or recipient of a message, which therefore assumes legal value in all respects.

Digital signature  : whether it is strong or light, it has the same legal value as a handwritten signature, therefore, to all intents and purposes, it is as if the person had physically signed that document.

Digital domicile  : it is a method that allows public administrations to use digital tools for communications to and from citizens.
To be able to "activate" a digital home, just use one of these two services:

SPID , ie Public Digital Identity System ; all you have to do is register, specifying your username and password, after which you can access all the services offered by the public administration directly online.
