With the spread of the Internet, it is much easier for scammers to contact and cheat their victims, as they use all their knowledge to deceive them. Of course, scams can affect any person, however, it is usually economically unstable and / or people with an actual shortage who are affected, so that scammers can tap into their weaknesses.

According to an estimate carried out by the European Central Bank , the value of the scams have reached a value of 1.8 billion euros per year.

WHAT ARE THE WAYS TO SCAM ONLINE?

There are several ways to scam online:

● Shopping Fraud : The scammer sells goods at remarkably advantageous prices that will not arrive or will prove to be of poor quality.

● The "romantic" scams : Scammed people are generally the ones who need the most affection. They are pushed to provide financial help to assist the person on the other side, who is of course defrauding them.

● The “lottery” scams : Less frequent are the emails announcing the winning of a large sum in a lottery from another country and often unknown. After the first contact, a sum will have to be paid to release the winnings, but which obviously will be paid to the scammers.

These are just a few examples of online scams, but you must always be careful and never open emails and messages that you are not sure where they come from.
